Wakamatsu Yakiniku: An unlimited treat of Japanese dishes

The richness of a culture is not only manifested in its traditions. It can also be tasted in its exquisite and sumptuous dishes. With ingredients only unique in that place cooked in the distinctive process that only locals know how, you can feel and experience the identity of a culture with every bite. Good thing, there are many restaurants now, which offer international cuisine that gives us opportunity to have a taste of different culture without travelling really far.

And one of the many restaurants around Angeles City, Pampanga, that offers international delicacies is Wakamatsu Yakiniku Japanese Restaurant. It offers unlimited treat of Japanese delicacy and wide variety of meats from chicken fillet, Angus beef, and seafood that you can grill on your own.

For only Php 529, anyone can enjoy all the dishes of the restaurant, from sushis to sashimis and grilled meat.

FOOD (2 out of 5)

The restaurant offers limited variety of Japanese food. There is sushi, sashimi, tempura, kani salad, maki rolls to name a few. Most of the dishes are grilled angus beef, pork, and sea food. You may only get your money’s worth by ordering sushi and sashimi which are really expensive when bought outside. But since there are people who are not fan of fresh meat or fish, they may not be able to enjoy this unlimited treat.

Aside from the limited option of food, the overall taste of the dishes is not that remarkable. Among the dishes that I tried, nothing has stood out. Everything is disappointingly ordinary.

PRICE (3 out of 5)

The restaurant offers a reasonable and competitive price of unlimited Japanese food. For only Php 529 you may order anything you fancy in the menu. You may order as many as you want, provided that you will eat everything. The store imposed a penalty for uneaten food. You don’t want to pay extra just because you have this uncontrollable excitement of ordering every now and then.

PLACE (3.5 out of 5)

The place is really cozy. There are big tables that can accommodate 5 to 6 people. There are also tatami mats in the corner if you want to experience that Japanese homey feel. The place is a bit small but it is well ventilated and clean. There is no wifi, but I don’t think there is a need for it since you will have no time checking your fb with all the food infront of you.

SERVICE (4 out of 5)

Even though the staff are not wearing kimonos or any Japanese costume, they still employ an accommodating feel. They are kind and very attentive to every customer’s needs. The restaurant’s good customer service is a good selling point.

GENERAL VERDICT

3 food stars out of 5. It was ok. It is a nice place. But I probably won’t come back again. I won’t recommend it unless there won’t be any other place that would offer the same affordable price.

  1. Wow nice review. It’s contradicting though. I think you’re just not a fan of japanese foods. I’ve been here since it opened and compared to other japanese foods? This one is the closest to authentic. You should try travelling to Japan and try the authentic Yakiniku so you can compare. You have a problem with your taste buds. You are soo funny, funny blogger!!
